July 4th, 2020 Update

Hello Church,

I want to share an update and share my heart with you. Every week we are challenged with new circumstances. Things are constantly changing before us. Oh how we long for a return to normal. Each person has strong opinions on current issues like re-opening and mask wearing. Every week I hear from people in our church family on these issues. Our people have different sensitivity levels and many are strongly for or against such issues. Navigation through such times requires patience, kindness and bearing with one another in love. As your Pastor I pray to emulate this attitude and I ask for divine wisdom to shepherd our people.
In lieu of rising cases of COVID 19 and state mandates, I want to share the following:

  • We will offer masks when you come into church. I know some people will not wear one and that is your choice and I respect it. As your Pastor I will not force or require that you wear a mask but I encourage mask wearing. Again, let us bear with one another in love.
  • We will continue to social distance in our worship center and offer alternative areas in the church mall, youth room, and in the coffee bar area.
  • We will continue to offer hand sanitizer (throughout the church) and regularly cleaned restrooms for your use. Please stay home if you are sick or if there is any chance you’ve been exposed to the virus. We will continue to offer online services.
  • We will not have our regular meet and greet time in the service. We also will not pass the plate for offering time but will have plates by the door on the way out (people have also been using online giving through the website, mail, and physically bringing offerings by the church office). Thank you again for your obedience and generosity in giving to the Lord.
  • We will continue to meet in Life Groups as safely as possible. We plan to at least offer one class on Sunday mornings that will also provide an online ZOOM option. Please contact the church office if you’d like to join the online class.

This weekend we celebrate the Independence and Freedom we have as a nation. We live in the greatest nation on earth. God has truly blessed us with freedoms that we often take for granted. For the first time in our lifetimes, our July 4th celebrations will be almost absent. Let me assure you, this Sunday we will celebrate God and our religious freedoms as a church family (online and in person). I encourage you to join us at our regular 10:45 morning service. We NEED each other as we journey through this confusing and complicated time in our lives.
Let me end with these words from Hebrews 10:
23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.
24  And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,
25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Keep Encouraging One Another,
Pastor Todd
