June
Hello Church Family,
Can you believe it is the beginning of June? I am thankful for the blessings of cool days and recent moisture here in the mountains. As we begin the month of June, I am starting a sermon series on the book of Ruth. The series is entitled: The Plain Truth about Ruth. Here are a few questions/facts to prepare you for Sunday’s study:
· Ruth is one of only two books in the Bible named after a woman. Can you name the other?
· Ruth is not a Jew from Israel, but she married into a Jewish family. Do you know the country of her birth?
· Ruth shows us a picture of loyalty, kindness, and hope. Ruth serves as a bright light against the darkness of the time of the judges.
· Ruth begins with death and ends with a birth.
· Ruth is a love story.
· Ruth is the great grandmother of a great king in the Bible…who is he?
We will do an overview and a quick study of the first six verses on Sunday. Come prayed up and prepared for how God can shape us using these four chapters in the Old Testament.
Remember our Operation Christmas Child (OCC) fundraiser this Sunday, after church. We raise money in June to prepare us for a greater gospel impact in the fall. You can participate by doing the following: bringing items, bidding on items, and donating funds for the lunch (prepared by the OCC team). The team will be available on Saturday (from 2-4 pm) to collect auction items (desserts, etc…). Also be in prayer for Evie and Paige Fraley, who are currently on their mission trip to Latvia.
Praying you have a Jesus-filled week!
