A word from our Pastor

Church Family,

I awoke this morning with a heavy heart, praying for the families of the Uvalde school shooting. Uvalde is a town 85 miles west of San Antonio and has roughly 16,000 residents. I read that Robb Elementary school had around 600 students. An 18 year old man stormed the school and fatally shot 19 students and 2 teachers. This has become one of the deadliest school shootings in America. Uvalde is trying to pick up the pieces of this tragedy of young lives cut short, leaving families in shambles. This shooting was a result of terrible evil and wickedness. It is hard to comprehend how a young man could commit such an act. Just like the fires of Ruidoso, that left a path of devastation and loss, this shooting also leaves people in pain and heartache. Please join me in prayer this Wednesday as we pray for families and residents of Uvalde.

Our Father in heaven, we thank you for your present help when we need it most. We ask you to embrace the families of this tragic shooting in Uvalde. We ask you to comfort, through your Spirit, those who woke up this morning with the loss of their child or family member. We pray for the families of the teachers who lost their lives. We pray for those who lost their children. Please flood their lives with your Presence and your Peace. We ask Lord, that you build the community of Christ around them to minister and love on them at this time. We pray for extra grace for the leaders of that community. Thank you for being our refuge and strength. Thank you for being our help and our hope, especially in the midst of tragedy. We pray Lord that this emotional brokenness paves the way for the hope that comes through the gospel of Jesus Christ. We pray in Jesus name. Amen.

Thankful for my church family!

Pastor Todd
